CALIBRATED NHL RISING SYSTEM / V6
Every goal matters.
One coupled model connects team strength, shot quality, finishing talent, goaltending and player usage—then expresses every outcome as an auditable likelihood from 0 to 100.
Connecting to the official NHL schedule…
Tonight’s decision flow
Tonight,
in one clear flow.
Start with the slate-wide likelihood board, open the matchup behind any signal, then audit the simulation, recent form and source freshness. Every score stays on the same 0–100 probability scale.
MODEL WEIGHT CONSOLEFive-season venue prior + matchup evidence
At 1.00×, home ice contributes the observed 3.70-point home win lift. Recent form uses a semi-exponential seven-game curve with 72.7% of its weight in the newest three. Media tension is an attributable-reporting proxy capped at ±3 points; it is contextual, not causal. Change a multiplier, then query again.
Resolving schedule and recent player states.
Likelihood is the result.
Distribution explains the range.
Rinkside measures how often each event occurs across coupled simulations, then separates that likelihood from sample confidence and the expected statistical mean. No sportsbook line or betting price is used.
Read the ice.
Then read the room.
Rinkside’s hockey probability remains independent. Exact player markets can add a bounded second opinion when their price, freshness, liquidity and cross-venue agreement clear the quality gate.
Every blend requires the same player, matchup and settlement market. Gross activity only raises confidence; executable probability, price movement, taker flow and depth provide direction. MODEL remains the unaltered hockey output.
Value beyond a position replacement baseline.
Public NHL production, seven-game form, shot generation, regressed finishing, power-play contribution and low-weight two-way context. This is Rinkside’s original proxy—not Evolving Hockey GAR, xGAR or RAPM.
The second opinion behind the score.
Wave Intel’s NHL.com and MoneyPuck layer cross-checks Rinkside with adjusted 5v5 xG, net special teams, weighted L10 form, goalie GSAx and individual chance quality. Every adjustment is bounded and auditable.
Correlation-aware combinations.
Measured 3-event, expanded 7-event and high-variance 9-event groups share the same game state. Their adjusted joint likelihoods show how quickly certainty contracts as more outcomes must occur together.
A speed mismatch is bending the neutral zone.
Toronto’s controlled-entry rate meets a Montreal defense that retreats early. That creates space above the circles—not a shot advantage yet, but the precondition for one.
If Montreal holds the blue line twice in the opening eight minutes, this edge contracts by approximately 6.2 points.
Prediction is a distribution over interacting game states—not certainty about a lone bounce.
Tracking / EDGE 27%
Event / xG 31%
Situation / NST 18%
Latent context 24%
COUPLED TEAM + PLAYER MODEL / 50,000 PATHS
See the game
before it happens.
The active matchup is replayed from current offense and defense, last-five team form, last-seven player form, PP-vs-PK, SAT/Corsi, inferred usage units and goalie context. Every goal, assist, point and shot prop below is measured from the same paths as the final score.
DAILY COUNTERFACTUAL / 50,000-PATH BASELINE
Coach the state.
Watch the ice react.
Every matchup on today’s slate becomes a playable model. Tune pace, forecheck, shot pressure, special teams and defensive resilience, then replay a deterministic path without altering the calibrated baseline beneath it.
NARRATIVE SIGNAL LAYER / CAPPED CONTEXT
The stories that
survive the numbers.
Current point runs, verified opponent history, former-team context, milestones and attributable reporting are translated into a restrained matchup adjustment. Missing evidence stays neutral; no storyline is treated as causation.
The combined narrative layer is capped at ±2.5 win-probability points and ±0.22 expected goals. It can reshape the SIM density field, but cannot overrule the hockey baseline.
Three goal paths through every game.
Each triad begins with the scorer rate measured inside the matchup’s 50,000 coupled paths, then uses last-seven form, season finishing, PP-vs-PK, line Corsi, team environment and recent opponent history as supporting evidence.
The fifteen strongest goal signals.
A single cross-slate ranking from the same scorer model used by every matchup triad. H2H samples below five games are regressed toward neutral instead of treated as complete evidence.
